About All-on-4
The All-on-4 dental implant is a permanent, cost-effective treatment solution based on four or more implants secured in the jawbone to obtain optimal positioning and support of a complete denture.
This innovative solution provides the patients with a fixed bridge on the same day that the teeth are extracted and implants are placed.
The All-on-4 clinical solution has been developed to maximize the use of available bone and to allow for Immediate function™.
Using only four implants in edentulous jaws, the solution takes advantage of the benefits of tilting the posterior implants to provide a secure and optimal prosthetic support for a prosthetic bridge, even with minimum bone volume.
The first step to your permanent teeth is an examination to determine your current situation. During your examination, you may expect a few very important diagnostic procedures. Dr. Martz then can determine the best solution for your specific needs.

Am I A Good Candidate for All-on-4 Dental Implants?
All-on-4 implants may be utilized to substitute the upper and/or lower dental arches with implanted screws connected to dentures that are custom-made for your teeth. You might be a good candidate for All-on-4 implant dentures if you prefer the advantages of implant-supported dentures over removable dentures, which include no or few dietary restrictions, no sticky adhesives, and no denture soaking. You'll need to have good bone and gum density in order to get these implants, as they will rely upon your bone and gums to be held in position. If necessary, gum and/or bone grafts might be performed before implant placement. Dr. Martz can decide whether this procedure is appropriate for you during your initial consultation and can discuss all of your options.
How Do All-on4 Dental Implants Work?
The first step in the All-on-4 process is to take scans and x-rays of your teeth. Dr. Martz will develop your personal treatment plan and talk about your choices for sedation during the process. During your first appointment, the implants will be put in your mouth. Dr. Martz will put a temporary denture over the implants while your gums and jawbone recover and your custom dentures are created. In a few months, you will return to get your custom dentures connected and adjusted for a comfortable fit.
All-on-4 FAQ
Does getting All-on-4 dental implants hurt?
No, most patients do not find that getting All-on-4 dental implants is painful. While having implants placed in your jaw may sound intimidating, Dr. Martz uses powerful local anesthetics to completely numb the jaw and treatment area to ensure you are comfortable. If pain is a concern, you can talk to Dr. Martz about your treatment options during your consultation. Patients usually experience some swelling and soreness for a few days after their procedure, but this is normal and typically easy to control with over-the-counter pain relievers (always consult your physician before taking medications). We may also prescribe appropriate pain relievers to help keep you comfortable.
How long does it take to get All-on-4 dental implants?
You will need an initial consultation for the diagnostic imaging and examination. After that, we can typically complete your All-on-4 implant procedure in one office visit. When you're done, you'll have a complete set of beautiful, solid, and new teeth.
Will I need to have a bone graft?
No, most patients will not. Typically, with other dental implant procedures, patients that lack sufficient jawbone density need time-consuming bone graft procedures. With our innovative technique, which uses longer screws set at angles, most patients can get All-on-4 implants without needing to undergo bone grafting.
